Micklefield 8 & Under Training Day

March 25, 2009

This event will be held by our good friends at Micklefield Judo Club on Saturday 25th April.  It will consists of a training session coached by Ian Rose (5 time Paralympian) followed by a competition style randori.  Anyone aged 8 or under, who have held a license for 6 months or more but who haven’t won a medal at a red belt rumble, is eligible to take part.  We had a fantastic turn out last time with great performances all round so let’s get behind the Renrukan again.

Micklefield 8yrs and Under

December 8, 2008

What a fantastic day for the ”renrukan”. We took 13 players to the Micklefield 8 & under training and competition day.
this competition was a day for new members of the younger element to get a taste of competition ,and have the chance to meet and practice judo with other players from different clubs.

Not only was this event a great day, it was also very very, successful taking 4 GOLDS, 4 SILVER, 5 BRONZE. On top of we also gained spirit of the day, judo style of the day.  Fantastic tally of awards.

All players were weighed into groups as normal competition rules.

Players results as follows:

ISAAC TAYLOR ( BRONZE )
CHRISTINA HILL ( BRONZE )
BEN GORMAN ( BRONZE )
CHARLIE McINTOSH ( BRONZE )

Well !! Just look at that list of achievements that is some tally.

All these awards were presented by 5 time Olympian IAN ROSE

Silver medallist in Athens 2004
Bronze medallist in Atlanta 1996
World Champion in 1995
4 x European Champion

To have our team of players on the podium with IAN made me feel very proud. I hope you players were pleased with the day.

The name of our club, Renrukan, means “school of continuous attack” and you plyares certainly stood up to our name. Fantastic.
lets keep up the progress.

You made me feel very proud it;s not easy out there ,

Amersham 61 Club Open – Sunday 23rd November

November 23, 2008

We took 4 players to High Wycombe on Sunday again some strong opposition, as expected.

All players tried very hard, and in some case narrowly missing out on medals.

Our players had to fight against each other as they were in the same weight group, always a hard thing to do.

Saying this we were successful in the -34 group with JOHNATHAN AMECHE taking the bronze medal. Well done Johnathan. AS he said to me something he did not expect.

DANIEL BARTLETT -30kg

JOHNATHAN AMECHE -30kg (BRONZE)

OSCAR WHEELER -34kg

LEE INGRAM -34kg

Well done to all keep it up

Christmas Party – Sunday 14th Dec

November 12, 2008

Don’t forget to come to the party.  There will be presentations and lots of fun.  Starts at 18:00 and goes on til 22:00.

Red Belt Rumble – Sunday 9th High Wycombe

November 9, 2008

Unfortunately we only had one player to represent the Renrukan this time, Kieran Halls Kieran fought very well, losing his first fight to a Pinewood player.  His second fight was a fantastic, gruelling match.  Kieran did not stop attacking with standing or ground work, picking up scores all the way. Eventually his hard work paid off with pinning his opponent to mat for a terrific IPPON. His final fight was again a gruelling fight, this time the fight went to a golden score, and Kieran was pipped by a very suspect score against him.  The refs were in two minds in which to give.  Otherwise this would have been for a well deserved bronze. Kieran fought very hard indeed and made the Renrukan proud.  Well done Mark (Coach)

Northern Home Counties – Junior Open U12

October 25, 2008

Renrukan entered 6 players for this event, which is probably the biggest competition in this age group they have been too.

Players from all over the country were entered (including Liverpool, Wales  and the South of England )
Many of our players fighting others in their categories that were top end of the age band.  In many cases these players where also higher grades.  The u34 group contained players who were 9th mon(orange belt); so a very very tough group of high class players.

All our players fought hard against some of the best around and with that attitude they have it won’t be long before we are their with the best.

In the U24 boys group, again very tough opposition, we came home with a fantastic SILVER medal thanks to Keenan

Personally I think this is best fighting I have seen from Keenan.  RENRUKAN (school of continuous attack) was well lived up too.

Again my heart goes out to all players one of the toughest competitions yet.  Keep it all going.

KEELY    U32
KEENAN  U24
DANIEL   U30
KIERAN   U30
CONNOR U34
OSCAR   U34

well done Mark (coach)

October 5, 2008

Well done to Thomas and Daniel for attaining their 5th mon grades (Yellow belt with 2 red tags)

Tom also gained his 5th mon (from 1st mon) Great stuff.

This can be achieved within the fast tracking acheme for new starters in the age group 12-13.  These are limited to 2 gradings which must be completed in their year.

Once again, pleasing results from players putting in great effort.  You should all be very proud.  Keep it up.  BLACKS YOUR GOAL !!!
