NHC Red Belt Competition Sunday 8th November
November 8, 2009It was a tough day for the renrukan. We took 8 players to Wycombe for this competition.
Although not taking many medals, the players showed terrific courage.
Most will come away with loads of experience and hunger to improve their skills.
Two players did achieve medals. They were ELLA and TED.
Ella fought all the way to get into the final of her weight group with a total of 6 fights and gained a fantastic silver medal which went all the way to a golden score time.
Ted took a bronze medal in a very tough group.
All players will recieve participant certificates from the NHX.
Again there is terrific improvement in our judo on each competition the players enter. And our judo etiquette is well recognised around northern home counties.
Well done to all especially those that made the effort to compete at this level and standard for the first time.
Keep it up.
Well done

Club Championship 2009
October 3, 2009What a fantastic day for the renrukan! Well done to all that competed and made the effort, especially the players that have only been with us for only a few weeks – what a wonderfull gutsy performance they made.
The judo displayed was the best I’ve seen as a complete club. Not only the individual matches but the overall standard across the groups was fantastic.
The name renrukan (school of continuous attack ) was really lived up to. Brilliant.
I would like to thank everybody who gave their time, and huge support, to me and the club. With the continued support of friends and families, like we had on Saturday, in addition to the attitude and commitment of the players, the club will become even stronger in the future.
The effort in the front foyer was terriffic (I wish you all could have had more time chilling and enjoying the judo).
My thanks again goes out to every one of you – from putting out the mats, to cooking burgers and bacon, baking and selling cakes, lubricating me with coffee.
Hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as Lewis and I did.
You must be very proud of your kids.
Thanks guys you’re a great bunch

Micklefield Red Belt Rumble
September 26, 2009We took 8 players to the Micklefield Red Belt Rumble on Saturday 26th September; and what a day to remember. One of the best renrukan results going; in many ways.
The judo quality and constant attacking was fabulous which showed in the results. Two players at their first competition took gold in fantastic style – Joe Waterman and Ryan Short.
Also out for her first ever competition was Skye Westward. What a wonderful brave and courageous player. She fought hard in every fight.
Although not all players received trophies, the improvement in their judo was incredible and very rewarding.
The future for our players is very promising indeed.
I would also like to add that the attire of our players on Saturday was stunning. Well done!
Many thanks to mums and dads and other family members for the great support to the players and myself.
Many thanks to the mums for the food and liquid which keeps me lovely and happy while being excited at coaching the kids.

Mix 96 Local Heroes
June 24, 2009On June 19th our club coach Mark Scott attended the Mix 96 Local Heroes awards held at Halton House near Wendover. Mark was nominated for the Sports Person of the Year award by one of our junior players, Ella.
Having been shortlisted, Mark with his date for the evening Ella (chaperoned by her mum Annabel) were invited to a very posh awards ceremony!
I’m sure the whole of the Renrukan will join us in congratulating Mark on his runner up award. As Mark said this week, he is absolutely thrilled to be nominated by Ella.
Mark was also delighted to be nominated for the Inspirational Teacher Award by another of our talented junior judokas, Ted.
These nominations and the runner up award are thoroughly deserved and are a reflection of how highly the people Mark coaches regard him.
As these photos show, Mark had to swap a Black Belt for a Black Tie!

Well done Mark!
NHC Mini Mon – Sat 6th June
June 6, 2009Another great day of competition for the Renrukan.
We took 5 players to the High Wycombe Judo Centre for this competition – open for players graded up to and including 6th Mon.
Two of our players, Josh and Conor, were out at a large competition for the first time at over 8 years old.
Very proud with all players for making the effort to compete in tough surroundings; always a great learning curve.
All fought to their best with Josh gaining a BRONZE medal.
Lee fought and gained GOLD, winning all of his 4 fights in fantastic style and with a standard of judo etiquette that I have never seen in my judo lifetime. Only once have I witnessed such quality and that was at a world masters in Ireland by a Brazilian player. He took 2 golds. But that player was a world master! Lee is 11 years old and took high praises from the referees and many of the top ranking officials. ‘Where did that all come from?’ was one the comments from the ref. I smiled and said, ‘I’ll pass that on’.
JOSH PATEL U24 Kg (BRONZE)
LEE INGRAM U34 Kg (GOLD)
KIERAN HALL U34 Kg
OSCAR WHEELER U38 Kg
CONOR BATESON U42 Kg
You guys made me proud again. Lee, that was an awesome display of the complete sport of JUDO.
See you all at training.
thanks
MARK ( coach )
Richard – 1st Kyu Grading
May 27, 2009Well done to Richard for gaining his 1st Kyu (Senior Brown Belt).
What a great effort of determination, study and combat to achieve this high grade.
Many congratulations from myself, Lewis and the other players that have admired your achievement.
A very proud moment for Richard I’m sure. Now he can relax and start aiming for his black belt!
Great to have players of Richard’s honesty and focus to achieve at the Renrukan.
